Dr. Christian Berkhahn
He is the owner of Metro Pediatric Associates. Dr. Chris was born is Wisconsin and grew up in Iowa. He went to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama where he triple majored in Chemistry, Biology and French. He received his Master’s Degree in molecular biology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Chris graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2004. He completed his pediatric residency at the University of Louisville in 2007. In 2010 he joined Metro Pediatric Associates alongside another physician and in 2014 he bought the practice and fulfilled a lifelong dream of building his own office. Today Metro Pediatric Associates is an independent thriving pediatric practice, taking care of your child from birth to adulthood. Dr. Chris has an intense desire to provide the best care for your child, as well as the whole family. Dr. Chris holds himself to a very high standard of medical ethics, believing firmly in the care that he provides. He will work passionately alongside is staff to ensure the best possible outcome for the development of your child. When Dr. Chris is not at work, you can find him out on the golf course or cheering on his children at sporting events. Dr. Chris has been married for 14 years and together he and his wife Wendy, have three boys, a menagerie of pets and a foster baby.
Wendy Berkhahn
Wendy was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1995. She received her Bachelor’s in English Literature in 1999 from Bellarmine University. In 2004, she received her BSN (Bachelor of Science Nursing) from Bellarmine as well. She started working in the neonatal ICU at Norton and stayed there for 13 years. After her youngest son was born she stepped back from nursing and focused on being a homemaker. With all three boys now in school, Wendy has returned to work and loves being a part of Metro in any and all capacities. In her spare time, she enjoys sitting at the pool, taking care of the new foster baby, going out to dinner and cheering loudly at her son’s soccer games.
Tanesha
Tanesha is a certified medical assistant (CMA). She is originally from California, graduating from Oceanside High School in 1994. Tanesha received an associate degree in Health Science, as well as a degree in Nurse Education and Medical Technology. In 2022 Tanesha received her bachelors degree in Health Information Management. She has worked in pediatrics for the last twenty one years. She lives with her husband, their daughter and their foster baby. When she isn’t working, she can be found on her motorcycle.
Aleshia
Alicia was born and raised in Louisville. She graduated from Souther High School and began her medical career as a phlebotomist. She continued to advance in her career and received her degree as a Medical Office Assistant. Alicia is double certified in LMR (limited medical radiography) and CCMA (certified clinical medical assistant). Alicia has two children and enjoys bowling, fishing, movies and going to the lake.
Shaina
Shaina was born and raised in Louisville. She graduated from Fairdale High School. Shaina is currently a student at JCTC pursuing an associate’s degree in Human Services. When not in school or at work, Shaina enjoys spending time with her family, her boyfriend and her new puppy.
